Even if you brush and floss your teeth everyday, your smile may not be as bright as you want it to be. This can happen for a number of reasons including consuming coffee, tea, red wine or due to age, medications, and previous trauma. Teeth whitening is a simple, safe process that can be done in the office or at home using whitening trays.
The in-office whitening procedure uses E-Z White, which takes about an hour and produces immediate results. This is done by first applying a protective gel to the gums to protect the soft tissue, then applying a light-activated gel to the teeth which is then enhanced by a light or laser.
The take home whitening kit uses tray whitening which produces more gradual results. First, an impression of our mouth is taken in our office to create a customized clear tray. Within a few days, the trays are ready and the patient can start whitening. The patient must follow instructions for how to apply the gel to the trays and how often to use it in order to get the maximum whitening results.
