Another common cosmetic dental procedure is veneers, in which a thin layer of porcelain or composite material is placed over the outside of the tooth. These are used to help with tooth damage or for cosmetic reasons. Veneers are used for the part of the teeth that can be visible when the patient smiles.
There are two forms of applying veneers. Direct and indirect. When composite resin is placed on the outside of the tooth using bonding, which us why direct technique is most often called bonding. The indirect technique can take more time since a compsoute will be fabricated at dental after the first appointment. When the veneers re back from the laboratory, after a couple weeks, the temporary cover is removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth, because these are customer made to fit they will be more aesthetically pleasing.
